I have used this takeaway for years and have never had a bad one yet. Was quite shocked to read review saying that dishes had long dark hairs in 3 dishes. That does surprise me as no one on their staff have long dark hair to my knowledge but the REVIEWER has !! I would take that review with a pinch of salt!! The Kam Hon is one of best takeaways in East London and I have tried quite a few. Give them a try. You decide for yourself but I will keep using them.

I agree with Roadpoet's review, a consistent take away that will satisfy your Chinese craving but won't blow you away. The owners are friendly and quick so you won't be waiting too long and the portions for what you pay are good value.
The Sweet and Sour Chicken balls Hong Kong style is ace, I think the best dish I've had from there. Prawn crackers are very prawn like, as said before strongly flavoured. -

Three well earned stars for Kam Hon, it is not remarkable as a takeaway but it is solid and the food is well prepared and tasty. We avoided anything that might have a gloopy sauce and went for rice and noodle dishes which, along with salt and pepper squid, were good. The Kung Po was a little gloopy and was not impressive but was our only disappointment. The prawn crackers were the strongest tasting I've ever had but they were good to eat.
Portion size was good - we certainly weren't hungry afterwards.
The takeaway itself is a little shabby but the owners are friendly and make you feel welcome.
We have used Kam Hon a couple of times and will definitely use it again.
